My Great Grandfather Robert Jameson Torrens [1853 – 1896] married Elizabeth “Jenny” Long [ABT 1853 – 1895]. Both of them had short lives. However at this time the Long family was quite prominent in Youghal and like a lot of other Youghal families, they did not all stay in the town so many of these records relate to other places.

  Many letters from Richard William Long of New York, 1904 through 1916. They are of limited genealogical interest, though they do mention a number of names and properties. Maybe they are more of social history interest! I am transcribing them (mainly to help myself digest them) and they will link them here as transcribed. The originals are typewritten and are in my possession.
